GEAR UP
Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs

GEAR UP Meriden/Middlesex is currently serving the graduates of the F.T. Maloney High School and O.H. Platt High School Classes of 2025. The grant is currently in its 7th and final year, providing post-secondary support to students.

If you’re a student, parent, guardian, or educator, you can increase college and career readiness with GEAR UP Meriden/Middlesex as your partner.  A federally funded grant program through the United States Department of Education (USDOE) that helps empower local students to think beyond what they see today, GEAR UP CT provides the tools, resources, and programs to help students increase their success in education and beyond.

THE PARTNERSHIP

Together with Connecticut State Colleges & Universities, the Meriden Public School system, and CT State Community College @ Middlesex, GU Meriden/Middlesex is currently serving the graduates from the Class of 2025at Platt and Maloney High Schools with the goal to increase the number of students and families prepared and ready to succeed in their post-secondary goals and beyond. Together with Connecticut State Colleges & Universities, the Meriden Public School system, and CT State Community College @ Middlesex, GU Meriden supports current 12th graders. With the goal to increase the number of students and families prepared and ready to succeed in their post-secondary goals.

FAMILY INVOLVEMENT

GEAR UP Meriden/Middlesex conducts frequent and relevant workshops for students and their families as we travel through this post-secondary year. To learn more about which workshops are coming up next, visit the News & Events tab and follow our Instagram page @GEARUP.MXCT

SCHOLARSHIPS

Scholarship opportunities will be made available upon successful completion of the program & completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). GEAR UP will help you find local, national, and sponsored scholarships based on your individual needs.
